Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 84.2/100, a mean average of 83.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.3/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.2.

Best track ever made by Pixies. Everytime I hear it, I think: this is really something special. Like Teenage Kicks - the Undertones and Get it on - T Rex.

'I'm in a state' of confusion why do so many rate this so highly. I agree the outro is really good but it is only just about saving a fairly ordinary song. Not the best by the Pixies by a long shot.

One of those songs that I'm in love with, then see it's rating on this site and become confused about life...

I underestimated this track a bit amongst the other classics on this album... until I saw it being performed live and where the outro was really kicking ass and I came to realise that it does the same thing on the album; kick ass: what a solo!

The final 2 minutes are so simple yet so incredible. Often just listen to this to improve my mood.

Terrific song, and perfectly placed on Doolittle. I especially appreciate Joey Santiago's slightly off-kilter guitar solo in the outro that follows Black Francis's final unhinged declarations: "Viva, don't want no blue eyes / La loma, I want brown eyes / Rica, I'm in a state."

Best Pixies song IMO... The instrumental, last 2 minutes are insanely epic.

Not a song that I particulary think is special

Wasn't much of a fan of the vocals, but the outro was nice.
