Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. These guys aren't my favorite, but you can hear their influence in most alternative rock in some way or another. Also, the song debaser is absolutely phenomenal.

You've gotta love a band who's lead singer can scream just as well now as he did in thew eighties, they're one of the best live shows I've ever seen, amazing songs, amazing musicians, amazing vocals, their new albums aren't great but when you have 5 classics under your belt it's excusable

Doolittle has no bad songs. All killer, no filler. The rest of the band's discography is good - Surfer Rosa is great - but nothing beats Doolittle for me.
Do new albums hurt the overall rating of a band?? If they were left to their 80's & 90's they would be perfect but the new stuff....EEEEK
