Hurdy Gurdy Man ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.6/100, a mean average of 87.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.5/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.7.

right, I know that he was a popular session guitarist at that time and played on many records. Too bad, it sounds so much like them, I wish that it was true.
I had never heard that Led zep played on that single until about 10 years ago when I read it in the Goldmine book publication which lists the value of singles along with the artists, label, etc., it surprised me but it sure sounds like them, but if the group denies it, then it can't be true.
interesting, I will have to check that out. Did you read that in an interview?
Led Zeppelin is the studio band that play on this track (minus robert plant)...i think that I am repeating myself.
The best single of 1968. They used this song as the title song for the movie "L.I.E". perfect choice.
