Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 89.3/100, a mean average of 89.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.6/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.7.

This song is something else. I discovered it in about 2015/16 before I properly got into music. At that time I wasn't really listening to anything besides songs I would randomly stumble across through friends or youtube and I somehow stumbled upon this song. I have grown out of most of what I used to listen to back then but this has always stuck with me and I have never gotten sick of it and, as with many long term things, Holocene has been with me for some of my highest and lowest points of the last 5 years. It's hard to explain what this song means to me but to me, it is a warm blanket of frosty bliss; so many moments that you can envision and relate to are conjured up in the lyrics, feeling small and insignificant (a la Helplessness Blues), Halloween, winter, Christmas. The instrumentation is rich, intricate and gentle, the vocals are soulful, tender and heart-wrenching. The best times to listen to this song in my opinion are walking in the rain and the snow; it gives you the landscape and the physical experience that the song conveys in audio form. As the world continues to burn I know that if all else fails, Holocene's got me.
The way the instrumentation slowly builds is masterful.
It's safe to say that this is one of the most beautiful and emotionals songs ever.
The best song on the album. Stunningly beautiful, a lovely song and the highlight of a lovely album. Superb.
The most incredibly beautiful song I have ever listened to. This song creates a landscape that I never want to leave. I am afraid of over listening to songs because they lose their magic after a while. I have listened to this one likely in the range of a thousand times and can never tire of it. Absolutely extraordinary.

This song deserves over 90. It's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Stunning and incredible piece of music.
When I heard the word "magnificent" in this, I thought about how well that word describes this tune.
Wonderful song!
