Easily my least favorite and the least necessary track on Sgt Pepper.
I get it, most Beatles records have a McCartney track on it like this or some sort of the classically coined “Granny music”, but this is the one that does the least for me.
I love the bells in this song. More amazing instrumentation on this album.

When I was junger I really loved this song. But now the magic kind of faded away. You have to be in the mood for this one.
Yet more evidence of McCartney's compositional genius. A bit twee but so ideal for Pepper.
Sweet little McCartney number as one would expect on a Beatles album. I bet Lennon hated this, but the album would be incomplete without it :)
When I'm sixty-four, had been written(or at least the bare bones of it) before the Beatles had even recorded their first album. It's really the first of Paul McCartney's old time numbers that would also bring us, your mother should know, and, honey pie. The difference between when I'm sixty-four, and those other two songs, is that sixty-four sounds authentic, it sounds sincere, there's no camping it up like there is on the other two tracks, no, when I'm sixty-four is perfect. McCartney's voice is also absolutely perfect, as it is on the whole of the Sgt. Pepper album, and is yet another example of how the Beatles seem to be able to effortlessly crossover genres and styles that seem to be able to cater for all ages, from children to grandparents. When I'm sixty-four, is a superb example of this.
This song has alarming simplicity. I overlooked it at first, but having gone back and listened to it, it's such a great song.
