Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. KILLER song, totally up to the standard of their former material. It's like they took the doom metal approach of their previous stuff and added just a hair of shiny light at the end of the tunnel. Kim Thayil says Never Say Die is one of his favorite Sabbath records, and I gotta believe this is one of those songs that inspired Soundgarden. Just listen to that bridge!
I really love this song, it's one of the best songs Black Sabbath has ever produced in my opinion. Catchy and energetic with solid playing and production.
