Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 90.8/100, a mean average of 90.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.2/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.4.

If this ain't the greatest song to come out of the Britpop scene, I don't know what is!!!! As people have said before, its a perfect song.
This is where Britpop peaked, classic. Perfect song in every way.

Classic track, one of the few I rate at 95.
Evocative lyrics and performance/delivery
The ultimate 'Brit pop' anthem. A superb song with Jarvis Cocker on top form. Brilliant song.
Great song

How is this song not rated higher? The music publications understood the importance of this song and it was always in the top 10 or 5 of the 90s.

The verses sound pretty much like Los amantes, by Mecano. Don't know if it's just a huge coincidence or a blatant rip-off.
perfect song
Maybe it was a hit because it's an amazing song...
