Hey everyone - how can Mother Nature's Son below get 8 unhelpful votes simply for stating that in their opinion the song goes on and on?
It is a great song with superb lyrics but is a bit one dimensional. It doesn't have the punch of Subterranean Homesick Blues or the melody of Mr Tambourine Man.
Don't find this comment unhelpful because there is some criticism. Are we all to think the same and hold in disregard the different views of others?

In my opinion, this is the most jaw dropping song in the entire Bob Dylan Canon. Lyrically, Dylan is as sharp as a knife, this song alone features many of his greatest lines, and musically it's arguably Dylan's most eerie and unsettling song. As far as i'm concerned, this song is the centrepiece of the Bringing it all back home album, not Mr. Tambourine man. It's alright ma, is one of Dylan's greatest songs. By the way, how is this not a top rated track?
