Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 90.0/100, a mean average of 88.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.3/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 15.4.

Probably the U.S.´s greatest white contemporary singer-songwriter. His long and varied career has rarely produced anything less than top quality. His lyrics are such that he is, thus far, rock music´s one and only Nobel Prize winner.
Not my favorite but he has made an impact lyrically and musically.
By general consensus the single greatest songwriter since the dawn of rock
Bob can possess uncanny wisdom, create a sound like how 2am feels, write a 2min pop gem or a 16min head scratcher, exhibit astonishing phrasing or sound like a dog coughing, follow the most astonishing words with a total clunker, and have you sometimes wondering if he’s still interested in the game. But he’s always fascinating.
My no.1 songwriter of all time.
Uncle Bob is the master and influencer.
There really not much to say. The music speaks for itself. Just listen to Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, and Blonde on Blonde. Then when you're finished with being blown away from those, go check out Blood on the Tracks. Some of the greatest albums ever recorded.
Favourite song: The Time They Are A-Changin'
Favourite album: Highway 61 Revisited
Most of his stuff isn't for me, but his lyrical prowess and influence are undeniable.
Probably my favourite artist for most of the time over the last 40 years or so. I have more albums by him than any other artist, but stopped buying adding to my collection after the 1980's. Seeing how highly some of his later releases are on this site I might have to start listening to some newer stuff.
