Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 84.1/100, a mean average of 84.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.8/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.3.

Wow, the opening drum machine section is just about perfection. It builds beautifully and exquisitly. An outstanding piece of music.

The second song in the hidden Duke suite, as well as the first Genesis song to use a drumming machine. It's a really nice recounting of how the titular Duchess went from becoming a starving musician who loved her music to a superstar that became disillusioned with her craft. Banks probably does the best work here with his keyboards creating some beautiful soundscapes in the opening two-minute instrumental. Some real musical excellence in here, though I don't think it's quite as good as the opener. I'm not a huge fan of how Collins' vocals are mixed on this one, as they sound rather muddied compared to how crisp they are on Behind the Lines. And while the drum machine is programmed quite excellently, it's not as satisfying to listen to as the moments when Collins is behind the kit. But overall, it's a good song on a good album.

A masterpiece of drum machine programming.
