In my opinion this is one of genesis's best tracks with a few others being on the same level. Starting with an almost waves crashing sound before becoming almost jolly notes prancing up and down and then suddenly it kicks off at around 5:15-30
The drums become exiting and the music adds more layers building up more and more until the almost emotional moment where guide vocal is reprised. If I remember correctly Tony banks described it as God's last words to his creation before abandoning what it has become. Phils vocals capture this perfectly and is so so strong. The flute at the end is strange but ends up being a nice contrast to the complex majesty of the earlier glory.

Truly epic, a superb finish to a wonderful album. Full of power.
A mostly instrumental track that, alongside Duke's End, closes the album and the Duke suite. It takes a couple to minutes to get going, but once it does, it goes. Maybe the most prog-tastic moment on the album, full of intertwining complex rhythms and tempos, while Banks' keyboard and synth work do most of the heavy lifting. Don't miss out on Collins' rapid percussion and Rutherford's heavy bass, though. Both are quite good on this track. Rutherford also gets a second chance to shine with some guitar, which is where Duke's Travels really begins to become epic around the 5:30 mark. Shortly after, the lyrics of Guide Vocal are reprised, which are a nice way to wrap up the Duke's story but also aren't entirely necessary. I don't think Duke's Travels possesses the same enjoyability or ties together the album quite as nicely as Los Endos, which I'll always consider the gold standard for Genesis instrumentals, but it certainly comes close in areas. If this was Genesis' last true prog moment, it was a good one.
