Can never really pick which Lennon song written about sleep or the lack thereof I prefer between this and I’m So Tired from the White Album.

I’m Only Sleeping is where Revolver really starts dipping into the psych the eventually takes over the record. It’s got a great chord progression and some really great loose playing from the rhythm section.

As a kid I always cranked the stereo up for the trippy distorted guitar tones coming from the sides.

Alongside, and your bird can sing, and, tomorrow never knows, I'm only sleeping, is another of John Lennon's masterpieces on Revolver. The drony music and drowsy vocals are absolutely perfect for the lyrics and the song is brilliantly executed. The backwards guitars are the icing on the cake. One of the best songs on an album full of great ones.
