This song has indeed inspired me to sleep as regularly as possible. Gem
I read somewhere that Lennon loved sleeping. I second that emotion.
Introducing the reversed guitar. Lovely!
The melody contains many repetitive patterns and hangs on one note for far too long. Incredibly ear-wrenching.
As a kid I always cranked the stereo up for the trippy distorted guitar tones coming from the sides.
Lazy, trippy and groovy at the same time! Love the bassline and the reversed guitar :)
Alongside, and your bird can sing, and, tomorrow never knows, I'm only sleeping, is another of John Lennon's masterpieces on Revolver. The drony music and drowsy vocals are absolutely perfect for the lyrics and the song is brilliantly executed. The backwards guitars are the icing on the cake. One of the best songs on an album full of great ones.
This is my favourite song from Revolver. I love it
To me, this is the 2nd best Beatles track, behind Rain.
I'm really glad I'm not the only one on here who thinks this track is gold. "I'm Only Sleeping" is The Beatles' best LP cut of all time.
A song that reintroduced me to The Beatles a couple of years ago, I was like, "How many more hidden treasures like this one do they have ?" The mood of the song corresponds the subject well, and it's also technically innovative.
