An overlooked aspect of Hendrix's work was his lyric writing."Castles Made of Sand" gives highlight to the poet in Hendrix.
Likely Jimi's 2nd best song at the very least. The lyrics in this song are some of the best I've ever heard, it's very reflective of the more difficult and sad things about life, they're moving and touching, and his guitar playing emulates those same qualities perfectly.
