Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 88.7/100, a mean average of 88.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.2/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 10.8.

Easily one of the most earth-shattering guitarists ever. Every record this group released is a classic

Jimi Hendrix makes me feel as close to God as anything in this world.
I see that BEA has the stars and stripes meme against the band's name when two-thirds of the Experience were actually British. Shouldn't they have the multi-nationality symbol or - alternatively - I have seen one elsewhere that's half stars and stripes and half the union jack......?

The debut is their least good. Fight me. Ladyland and Axis are incredible sonic experimentation, and while the debut has the most hits, the other two are better as a whole.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience was breath of fresh air to music industry. In their short carers they produce two superb albums, and where brilliant live act.

What happens when you mix three really great musicians? You get The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Probalby the best ever power trio.
Jimi's guitar playing and poetic lyricism defined the era. While he was alive, he never released anything that wasn't brilliant.
Amazing band. All members extremely talented on their respective instruments and Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland are very great.
Undoubtedly one of the greatest guitar players of all time, if a little dirty for my tastes. His voice is horrible though, he should have had his guitar do all his singing for him.

An artist deserving of all the hyperbole
