Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track has a Bayesian average rating of 73.3/100, a mean average of 70.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.0/100. The standard deviation for this track is 18.4.

This is one of the worst Kiss songs ever.
Gene’s vocals are terrible, the lyrics are bottom of the barrel, and the production and musical surroundings, albeit ambitious, fail miserably as Goliath so accurately states below. For my ears, Beth is the much better left-of-center song on this record and I don’t even really care much for it.
Perhaps equally as problematic though is that Great Expectations absolutely SINKS the pretty awesome momentum Destroyer built up to this point in the record.
A travesty of a song as far as I’m concerned.
Tried hard, failed miserably. Mess of a song.
They used the fucking theme of Beethoven's 2nd mov of C minor piano sonata No.8
And even that way they couldn't make a good song.
The deaf was surely revolting in his tomb. (Edited)
Pretty good lyrics, and a strange twist from KISS. You'd never expect this. Anyway, the track is underrated as aformentioned in the below comment. The instruments are well done and the production is great.
Jason, you gave the track five stars and said "The track's not THAT great." lol. (Edited)
A very underrated track in my opinion. Not that the music is THAT great (as is the case with most KISS music) but the lyrics really speak to me. The ideas are so simple but so great. This is one of my favorite Simmons vocal tracks. He actually sounds really really good. It almost makes me think that I could sing in a band :P (Edited)
