Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 90.1/100, a mean average of 89.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.4/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.9.

The dichotomy between the seriousness of the lyrics and the blissfulness of the melody and vocal performance is kind of this album in a nutshell.
There’s not a weak moment across this song’s runtime. The verses are brilliant and give way to a killer and brooding sax solo which then give way to the outro that never fails to stop me in my tracks. I always think “How the fuck did they even think of that?”
Such a great song.
I really can't care less about the issue that the other guy has with the lyrical content. To me, this song has a viral melody, which is so viral that upon each listen, it instantly drives me emotional and ecstatic.
I understand why What's Going On is the highest rated/focal point of the album, but gosh this is one of the finest and most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
It's just a great soul track, like I've said on other tracks MG avoids corniness because he sounds like he means it.

Phenomenal track!
I must sa this is one of the greatest albums of all times. On a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the highest, I give it a five. Marvin was a musical genius. He checked out too early, miss his style, lyrics and music composition.
