Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 4% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 81.4/100, a mean average of 80.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.6/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.8.

Great instrumental. The calm of the storm of the Epping Forest. I agree the second half is better than the first.

A really nice instrumental to calm down from the zaniness of the prior track. It definitely has a sort of medieval feel to it, especially in the first half with Hackett's 12-string and Banks' piano. The best is in the second half when Hackett breaks out the electric, alongside a tinge of Gabriel flute. Probably the weakest track on Selling England, but perhaps that's expected from a subdued instrumental.

Beautiful instrumental song, with a sweet Hackett's solo on the second half of the track. It is a good warm up for the awesome Cinema Show.

In this song the instruments of Banks and Hacket keep each other in balance. Unlike "Moonlit Knight", Hacket unfortunately does not sound particularly inspired. Also the title "After the Ordeal" is anything but exciting.

Often I forget about this song when talking about the album, but when I listen to it, it's instrumentally a highlight on the album and a shining moment for Steve Hackett.

An instrumental that starts out in a Scarborough Fair style, then gets into generics Peter Gabriel Genesis.
