A veritable mini-epic with two highly differing sections which provides great dynamic contrast. Another underrated gem, powerful and beautiful.

I don't get Big Star, must admit, it's my era (although I didn't hear them at the time), I was a spongey teenager absorbing all new music when this came out but it just sounds soo bland to me: I have difficulty comprehendng it's high position in the bea charts.
I know I'm not a teenager now (before somebody else points it out) and maybe my tastes and expectations were set by the end of the 70's (punk and all that). I only comment because it's so rare to find an album so highly rated by bea that I just can't get anything from at all.
