Big Star ..... sort of

Rather a reunion of sorts with Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens in attendance along with The Posies Jon Auer (guitar, backing vocals, lead vocals on "I Am the Cosmos" and "Back of a Car") and Ken Stringfellow (bass guitar, backing vocals, lead vocals on "Daisy Glaze" and "Feel") filling out the band

Unfortunately the performance is rather flat, Chilton clearly doesn’t want to be there and spends large amounts of the performance with his back to the audience or at toward the back of the stage , Jon Auer tries hard but ultimately fails whilst Ken Stringfellow is just weird , thank goodness for Jody Stephens who puts in a sparkling performance on drums and vocals and steals the show

This 14 track album is an abridged version of the 21 track original performance , the full performance can be viewed on YouTube or listen to the 2016 reissue expanded release

I can’t even recommend this for the Big Star enthusiast
