One of Cohen's best tracks, showcasing some of the finest songwriting of all time. It's made more powerful by the sparseness of the music behind it. (Edited)
When I first heard this I had to turn off my media player because any other song would sound horrible after listening to this.

I like this song - the production is good and I like it's sparseness. I particularly like the Oooohing backing vocals. I agree some of the poetic lyrics are a bit mmmmh. Just read that he was a bit unhappy with the orchestration which he felt was overblown - not on my version - it's good and subtle
