With the opening track, Dream Theater leave little for the guessing as to what direction they’re going for on Train of Thought. That direction? The heaviest they’d ever gotten to that point.
To boot, the chorus is catchy, the solo is fiery, and Portnoy pulls off one of my favorite mid-song solos in his catalog.
A great opening track.
