This heartbreaking Patterson Hood rocker contrasts the situation of the song's poverty-stricken narrator, who can't afford health care for his wife when she gets cancer, with the politicians who do nothing about it. In many ways it foretells the anger and frustration of America's white working class that led to the ill-advised decision to elect Donald Trump as president.
