the first single from "Bridge" was "the Boxer" which came out in the spring (March 26,1969), but the album was released in January 1970, very unusual at the time..usually an album was released, then 2 or 3 singles were released every 4 or 5 months one at time with the strongest songs being released first...so the song "Bridge over troubled Water" was the second 45 released from the album coming out in January of 1970 when the album was released on January 26, 1970.
