I just made my chart! It only has 30 albums so far, but I will expand on it soon.
Just a question: have you ever listened to music before the 90s? If so, do you think nothing was of value before post-hardcore and backpack rap came? If not, are you planning on doing it?

I feel that Songs:Ohia would fit nicely with some of the bands on your chart. Their last album, Magnolia Electric Co., has an indie rock / alternative country sound. Their earlier albums are fantastic as well, but they're much slower and sparse.
I don't feel quite finished yet as the composition feels off to me, but I think I'm proud of what I have so far. I've worked harder on this chart than any of my other ones. From a certain point of view, it might be my best. It's my favorite chart on this site, and in my opinion, easily the best list on all-female bands I've seen on the internet, with this one in second place.
@Brandonmeow - I think you'll look forward to seeing that I've got several riot grrrl bands on this chart.
@bongritsu - I sincerely apologize as there are several riot grrrl bands on this chart.
To expand on what I mean by "composition": I'm missing having more music from some of the more major countries in music output, most specifically France, Germany, Brazil, Australia, and Canada. I think it could even use more British albums (I've got several so far, so it's more well-off than the others I mentioned). It's possible that women are less active musically in these areas (well, so is everyone compared to Japan, anyway), but it's more likely that I just aught to improve my research.
The chart could probably use more electronic music and jazz music, perhaps, though both styles seem more often released as solo projects than band works, as opposed to pop, rock, and folk.
And less importantly but maybe worth mentioning, there should be more 90s releases. At least 20 or so total.
I suppose I'm hoping that by saying more about it, that people could be more interested. Hmm.. what else.. I'm extremely proud of the top 12. I think the top 40 or 45 is ace.
Okay, how about this, best all-female band of each decade:
I guess I forgot to mention that I do not include girl-groups, as the instrumentation is often performed by men.
I may have also made an occasional mistake, there are supposed to be zero males, and sometimes it's hard to find a picture of a band (that is old or obscure or something) so I'll go by the names... or just the one or two pictures I find.
im really unhappy with my chart. i don't like the order they're all in and i always feel like im forgetting shit. _________________ Pipe Dreams is a virus...
