The recent server meltdown had me thinking about my chart and how frustrated I would be if it got nuked. It's not so much the album order I care about as the notes that I've put time and careful thought into. Would it be possible to add an option for a local backup of the whole chart?

I see an option to download a CSV file with the album list, but it doesn't seem to include notes. Would it be straightforward to add notes to this file?

I'd support this.

Not that I'm necessarily against the idea, but can't you just save your notes in a document?

Good idea, it wouldn't be too difficult to add an extra column to the CSV export to include any notes that belong to the chart.

Some questions I have about these csv files:

Can we upload a csv list to the site so it becomes a chart? (if the csv has the perfect, absolutely correct form)

Can we save our (album) ratings in a csv list as well?

Uploading charts isn't possible on BEA at the moment, but something I could look into. The main trouble I foresee is matching up albums in the CSV file with those already in the database, handling the security aspects, and validation. Tbh, CSV is fine for downloading, but for uploading it'll probably end up being something more robust.

It should be possible to create something where you could download your ratings (and the rest of your data e.g. collection etc) into CSV format. This is something that is noted for a future release.
