Great album
A great guitar album, Rich really made a name for himself with this one. Good live act too, free papers for attendees! Favs; 'Remedy' 'Sting me' and 'Hotel Illness'
Best song is Sting Me.
The Crowes have never been about the "hits". This album marked the arrival of guitarist Marc Ford and a huge leap in songwriting. The interplay between Ford and Rich Robinson, the beginning of the move away from straight Southern boogie, the maturity of Chris Robinson's voice, and the massive leap in writing puts Shake Your Money Maker far back in the rear view mirror and opens the door for the great Amorica. A powerful 2nd album.
BorkDefinitely a step down from their previous outing. The hits are weaker and the filling is thinner. Not bad, but never gets going.
This album gets the blood pumping!
My favourite track is My Morning Song... when I'm feeling a little down, no matter how bad I feel, this song makes it all better- it gets down in that ditch with me, and drags me back to the surface (apologies for mixed metaphors)
