Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.6/100, a mean average of 87.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.8/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.3.

After all this time, all those listens, the fragile beauty still gets me.
Have always loved the lyrics to this song and the effect Dumb has in its placement on In Utero. A great little Nirvana track.
Lennon would have given his right arm to have written this. But if he had he would have made more of it. Beautiful song -cello takes it up a level- but somehow it just leaves you wishing for more - just needed to be developed into the all time great it could have been. Some will think its pure simplicity is what makes it and on some days I wouldn't necessarily disagree.
One of the best off the album
"Dumb" frustrates me because it's a good song with the potential to be a lot better. How much effort would it have taken Kurt to vary the way he sings that melody line a little instead of just repeating the same line four times?
This is a beautiful song with a really nice melody. There actually is an underrated Nirvana song.
It's a good song, but it pales in comparison to the other masterpieces on In Utero.
Definitely one of Nirvana`s best. The highlight of this album.
It's solid, repetitive
Not much of a track...
