Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 90.1/100, a mean average of 90.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 10.2.

It must have been quite a job to perform this work integrally live.
Stunning
"Spin me back down the years and the days of my youth..."
I remember the notoriety of this album growing up and before I heard it: "It's all one track!", "My step dad says it used to blow him away", "two whole sides of an album!", "the radio version cuts out right before the guitar solo!" We had such huge expectations for this album by the time we finally bought a copy of it, and they blew them all away. The synchronicity of the band: "Love's but a whisper, your deafness a shout." Bam! As the band crashes in on a single note is exceptional through out.
Ian's voice is so sweet and gentle and magically guides us on a journey of a young man's life as he ages and deals with family and his future. The song offers so many movements that it never has a chance to grow stale and the album itself lives up to the grandiose nature of the song itself. The gate fold album comes with a complete newspaper attached that gives you the lyrics, the fictional back story of the song as well as humorous tongue in check adds. Over all, this album is a triumph of grand proportions but is not for everyone. Don't worry, Ian warns you in the opening line: "Really don't mind if you sit this one out..." and I'm glad I didn't.
