Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 4% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 81.4/100, a mean average of 82.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.5.

This is Supertramp's Dance on a Volcano, the first track on the first album with one of the band's major contributors (Roger Hodgson, in this case), and just like Genesis, they absolutely blow the roof off. Great angry lyrics and killer delivery from Rick Davies overtop of the slickest of grooves: explosive percussion, jamming bass, and moving piano lines. It's one of the best songs of their career, and I'm glad to see it's moved up to an 83 from a 79 when I made my prior comment a year ago tomorrow. Let's get this track to the 85 and star it deserves!
The fact that Cannonball and Just Another Nervous Wreck both are rated 79/100 is atrocious. Both are top 10 Supertramp songs.
