I first heard this on YouTube when I was 16 and felt like I'd get in trouble if anyone caught me listening to it. Nowadays, it gets played loud and proud whenever it comes on - and rightly so.
Barry White gets a run for his money on this impossibly daring and utterly uncompromising disco hit. As liberating as it is catchy, 'Love To Love You Baby' is bold, gracious and exquisite in every way.
Summer came to dislike this track because of the image it garnered her. That image was merely a stereotype of this absolute masterpiece, and ignores what a sheer achievement it is. This is nothing short than the sound of pure opulence and total pleasure.
Good lord too, those choruses at the end are simply unparalleled. Sultry brilliance on another level, a track that leaves you amazed every single time you listen to it.
