A genuinely brilliant track that sounds very inspired by eighties synth pop, but also feels fresh. The song's central narrative evokes growing up in a small New England town, with its cast of shadowy characters ("We lie awake at night in a tent and I say, / Tell me about your uncle and his friend / because they seem like very bad men. / Well we oughtta keep away from them." These lines aren't delivered in a dramatic or fearful way, just the matter-of-fact way that a kid might explain a thing he doesn't know isn't quite right. Subtly and effectively done.
