Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 84.1/100, a mean average of 85.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.9/100. The standard deviation for this track is 15.1.

The world is crying out for another depressive, no-hope anthem like this. There's this wonderful, almost triumphant sense of defeat in Joe Strummer's voice on White Man In Hammersmith Palais, almost as if he knows the country has gone to pot and that there's little he can do about it.
So instead, he finds his pleasure in singing about the woes of modern life and the state of the times. His words capture the struggle of black communities in their hometown of West London, the attitudes of the Punk scene in general and the sorry state of British politics as it was in the late 70s. He sounds so pleased with himself that it practically makes this raucous, driving and innovative masterpiece seem almost heartfelt.
The most Clash-iest song they ever made. And, quite probably, the best song ever written.
