36 Chambers is from 1993.

The second album I ever bought. And I still listen to it at least once a week. Arguably the greatest hip-hop album ever. The beats, the lyrics, the fact it was recorded in a two day period. Just everything about this album is perfect. This was the beginning of Jay-Z the superstar, yet no-one could've told at the time. 'Reasonable Doubt' is better lyrically, 'The Black Album' is more coherent and a stronger pop record. But fuck me I love this album. I love this album! I'm drunk, and me posting drunk on this site usually leads to me saying things I later regret. But not in this case. Every song on this album is a classic. My life would be incomplete without it. Thanks Shawn.

Thanks thejoj I was just about to point out that I mentioned early 90s hip hop being my favorite. My chart has 36 Chambers pretty high as well as a few of the first round of Wu Tang solo records. Madvillainy is also on my chart, but I guess it slipped my mind. All the same no one usually reponds to my posts so it wasn't bad to get a little attention.
