I used to prefer this album, but I probably prefer Parklife now. TBH, Modern Life Is Rubbish through to this was a pretty solid run, especially for a band tainted with the label "Britpop". There were some truly awful bands that came under that banner (see: Oasis, Suede, Cast, Elastica, Ocean Colour Scene, Dodgy, Shed Seven, Menswear, Supergrass, etc.).

I disagree with Suede, but I'm happy that Pulp wasn't mentioned.

Good album. Was very surprised that the album is so ambient, many songs don't sound like Blur.

I didn't think Pulp qualified as Brit-pop. They were around way before.

Rounding out the 90s closest to perfect discography. I'd probably rank it:

1. Blur
2. Parklife
3. 13
4. The Great Escape
5. Modern Life Is Rubbish
6. Leisure

one of my favourites from the 90s. tender was the first blur song I heard (maybe except song 2), then I found this record at a flea market and since then I bought it is amongst my favourite releases from that era.
this album is so moody, it is full of great experimental psychedelic and electronic ideas. my favourite tracks are Tender, Swamp Song, Mellow Song, Caramel, Trimm Trabb. Optigan 1 is the perfect closing track for this...

overall I prefer this to the self titled.

I quite like Supergrass. First LP was a real good time.

Back on topic: not my favourite Blur album (the three preceding ones were better), but I must admit I'm judging it on too old a memory. Re-evaluation is way overdue, I'll give it another spin soon.

Surely "the 90s closest to perfect discography" belongs to Pavement? Or Gang Starr?
