There should be more appreciation for "Twist & Shout" here, it's one of John's best performances! I think his voice being shot (was it from a cold, or what?) near the end of the sessions was a good thing in this case. 😁

I thought it was just because it was at the end of recording 14 songs.

According to those present that day (George Martin, Norman Smith, McCartney...) and Mark Lewihson's "Complete Beatles recording sessions", John had a cold that day and kept sucking on Zubes Lozenges for his throat all day.

Great album I think, mono or stereo. The former mix is punchier.
