And Jigglypuff, a joke? Come on, it (THERE ARE MALE JIGGLYPUFF DON'T SAY "SHE" THANK YOU) was one if the best characters in Melee. It was much weaker in Brawl (how sad), but it was one of the most insanely over-powered Melee characters. It would be pretty lovely if they managed to give it back its power in the new game. Same goes for Sheik, my favorite Melee character, and much much less impressive in Brawl. |
Oops. It seems I have confused or mislead. There seems to be a misunderstanding...
Anyway, I never said I don't want Jigglypuff in the game. I love playing as Jigglypuff (except in Brawl because, yeah, it's a bit nerfed). All I meant was this: look at Smash 64. All the characters are main characters from major Nintendo franchises, and then there's Jigglypuff, who just seemed to be a mildly popular Pokemon, but played very uniquely, in fact was probably the most unique character in Smash 64 (after Ness maybe). Basically my whole original point was that I love the more unique characters, so it would be a huge shame if Jigglypuff was cut (and since it was one of the original 12, it seems highly doubtful). The more unique characters sometimes get criticized by people (either because they're difficult to play as, or because they are unpopular additions), and this seemed to be the case with ROB, Olimar, and even G&W (there were people who were sure he wouldn't make it to Brawl, saying that it was a joke or gimmick to put him in Melee). The only character who I can actually say was gimmicky was Roy: he was a character in Melee before his game was even released, but in Melee basically just to promote his Fire Emblem game (which to be fair worked great, and he was cool in Melee, though not as cool as Marth). Some people seem to think that Jigglypuff in 64, G&W in Melee, ROB in Brawl were gimmicky and didn't belong with the rest of the smash crew. Personally I feel like uniqueness is what makes them belong.
As far as Jigglypuff's gender, to be fair in the games I think 75% of Jigglypuffs were female? But I just said "she" since it seems weird to use "it" as a gender neutral pronoun (same reason I called ROB "he", though ROB is probably more accurately an "it").
And as far as the new website goes compared to the Brawl dojo, I'd like to point out that the Brawl website was very minimal for a while after Brawl was revealed at E3 (2006 I think?) and the Dojo didn't start up for a few months after. Maybe that'll happen again? Even if not, the new website looks really nice and streamlined, and I'm sure they'll add more than just characters.
http://www.smashbros.com/us/CHARACTERS/pikmin.html <- The fact that characters is part of the URL makes me think that there will also be stages, items, etc. on the site eventually. Also I like the pictures, they're almost better than the Dojo updates (I mean, they were awesome when it was a character or stage or adventure mode update, but everything else was often disappointing), and yesterday we even got a new stage in the picture! (Or at least that's what it seemed like).
Apparently it's based on the new Kid Icarus, though I assumed it was Fire Emblem _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
