My point is that they, as artists, have every right to record whatever music they wish regardless of what people expect or their motives for doing so. We can say "I don't like this, I prefer their older sound", but when we say things like "This band should be recording music their fans want to hear, not music that will sell a lot of albums and concert tickets" it makes us sound whiny and entitled. |
i understand what you're saying. i was just making fun of the general populist. we are whiny and entitled _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

The most impressive of the three I've heard: Metallica, RTL, and MOP. RTL had good moments, MOP was slow after the first three tracks. The rest of the songs bored me and they had no real juice to them. but TBA was good throughout except for two songs and is currently my number 29.

This still doesn't make any sense.

I'm tired of Metallica... but even more so, I'm tired of the 'Masters of Puppets/Ride the Lightning are so superior to Metallica album' debate. I've heard it for 20 years.
This is a good album. Their stuff before was different, but also good. However, I haven't listened to either in awhile. I guess there's more interesting stuff to discover. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

Love this album.
So dark. Listen to it while driving at night-time it makes it all better. _________________ gi

I like the album a lot. It's one of their best. Not as thrashy as their early ones of course but the songwriting matured.

A very good album, quite a step down from the first four, but still a quality release. I agree that a couple of the songs could've been relegated to b-side status, 10 songs would've been a proper length (my 18 year old self would feel betrayed from what I just wrote, lol).
