It's a masterpiece, my favourite GBV album, though Alien Lanes is a close second. That said, there are plenty I haven't yet listened to.

there's a few I haven't heard, but nothing else is on par with Bee Thousand and Alien Lanes.

I know I'm gonna be killed but I just think it's underwhelming.
Not really any standout tracks other than "Echos Myron" and "Ester's Day" (they are both really good however).

You're wrong, but that's okay. What about Hardcore UFOs, Tractor Rape Chain, The Goldheart Mountaintop, Smothered in Hugs, I Am A Scientist, Queen of Cans and Jars?

Plus at the time it was recorded, hardly anyone was doing the lo-fi thing.

It's been a while since I last listened to this. "I am a scientist" is a perfect song. The rest of the album is pretty great.

I can't decide if I love the album or am just a little annoyed by what could have been a perfect catchy pop/rock release. I know that its imperfect nature is supposed to be its main appeal, but it's impossible for me not to wonder how it would have been had the songs been fully developed. However, its fractured structure is ultimately what fascinates me and had it been "perfect", it would actually have been imperfect unlike now where it's practically perfect! Confused
