I enjoyed โHands Upโ and โLimosโ the most off this one and I dislike the first song whilst the rest felt okay at best. It felt like the EP was coasting and outside of two standout tracks it really felt fairly flat and didnโt do much for me. Iโm curious to see where this artist develops in the future but as for this listen alone I wasnโt too impressed or enthralled.

Although I found it pleasant at times, I found it extremely hard to get into. I like stuff like Fever Ray that follow this path of experimentation but somehow I found the melodies a bit boring The storytelling intended to be "profound" lacked of many elements to make it appealing for the audience. On the positive side I found the production to be brilliant. The song I enjoyed the most was the duet with Peter Gabriel, "Excellent Birds".
Really cool tech death album. Some of the solos felt a little forced/out of place (but were still technically stunning), but that's the only major beef I have with the compositions; first track was a little off-putting, but it was mostly uphill from there. Wonderfully erratic baselines and sick riffing, plus a load of tempo changes, the occasional delving into polyrhythms, and just general rhythmic craziness which I tend to dig. ๐
Alright mecca I will get to yours (which I've been meaning to listen to since you first introduced me to the band, so thanks for that), but first, a rec for meruizh:
Nice and relaxing, I enjoyed it well enough. This is a type of music I think I enjoy a lot and it has the same aesthetics I enjoy in say Orbital or Origin Unknown though they play different types of music (Orbital does the ambient techno thing I believe whilst Air does this downtempo thing; but Iโm not too well-versed on electronic music stuff admittedly). Actually listened to this three times today to get a feel for it and it worked best at night (aka right now) rather than my afternoon listening selections. Was a pretty anxious day as well filled with a bit of stress so itโs something I needed after.
I'll get around to the Daemonia Nymph album soon...
Love it. It's got a singer-songwriter reggae feel with lyrics that make me ponder. "They drew a swastika in your cappuccino" indeed. The production was so-so, but I fell in love with Lekman's voice, and I can't wait to check out some more in the future.
