I'm hoping to start this thread where people will post their favorite BEA discoveries.
But first, some boring job stuff. My job is changing, and I won't have nearly as much time to maintain a BEA presence. But rather than just dropping off the map, I wanted to leave you with a list.

I stumbled upon this one in my earliest days on the site. At this point, I'm really not sure who was responsible. Maybe ThePoe or Brandon, but not really sure.
Back when he was not so Skinny, Lethalnezzle's chart led me to the magic that is Heart of the Congos. I also have him to thank for Culture, Billy Woods and much more.
Speaking of Jah. The sheer volume of discoveries NoWaxJim has been responsible is overwhelming. His taste in all things Jamaica has left me fat and happy. From the above masterpiece to Best Dressed Chicken to Sister Nancy, I'm forever grateful
And speaking of endless recs. I'm pretty sure Norman was responsible for my love of the Waterboys, Lisa Germano, and Tim Hardin among many many other things.

Based on what's on my chart: I discovered Talk Talk and Mark Hollis, Women, Talking Heads, and the virtues of Ennio Morricone through theharrisonfords. I got Dirty Three, The Disintegration Loops, Red House Painters, Low, and Roy Montgomery from CellarDoor. Fela Kuti from joannajewsom. And then I'm positive The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, Spiderland, Dopesmoker, and Thursday Afternoon came somewhere from here. Consistently get inspiration from Skinny, mecca, and Norman, but 2009/2010 and then 2013 were really the periods of my biggest growth on here.
As a side note, Exuma was first seen on theharrisonfords chart, and then picked up from there by joannajewsom, and then it's popularity spread like wildfire.
Like half my overall chart, though a lot through indirect influence. Much obliged to Skinny for Theo Parrish... I didn't listen to much hip-hop or electronic before I came here. I could think it through more but I don't wanna single too many people out cause it was a group effort, really. Much love.
