So I'm kind of in mourning today as my favourite record shop outside of London, People Records in Guildford (owned and run by Howard Smith, previously drummer with The Vapors. You know - they did Turning Japanese? Anyway...) is set to close down in January. Plus side is that EVERYTHING in the shop is 50% off, so I filled my boots with 12 LPs. Not going to list them all here as no-one likes reading a long post of album covers, however if you really want to know what I picked up click on the WWW tab below. A couple of highlights though:
Going back tomorrow to get a couple more, including some BoC, Tim Hecker and Jon Hopkins. Gutted he's closing down, but glad I could give the above a decent home.
Oh, and the wife bought me this for Xmas. Picturing the look on her face when she went in to my local record shop to ask for it:
