new to charts. trying to add fave albums, for ex Grief - Come to Grief . not allwed .what am i missing?

As you type your selections, you can either pick from existing items on the site, or if the item you want in your chart doesn't appear on the site, click the bottom option highlighted in orange.

thanks. theres nothing in orange. theres a red x by the band, and the link to add another entry is unclickable

Just trying to reproduce this, but not getting the same issue. The list of artists / albums should be displayed while trying to edit an entry within your chart. If you begin typing within an entry in your chart, artist / album suggestions should be displayed in a pick-list and the bottom (orange) entry in that list is the one you need to click. The 'add new entry' option might be disabled if the current entry that you are editing has not yet been validated.

yes with other entries that already are in the system its fine, but if its an entry thats not in the system, what can i do? thanks. it wont let me add another entry unless i delete the on ethat doesnt exist, but then whats the point of individual charts if we cant add rarer things

if you edit the entry in your chart containing the item that doesn't exist (retype it) but this time click the option highlighted in orange, this will allow that item into your list.

thanks but i give up. i do click the highlighted option but then it wont let me add any more entries. the only way i can continue is if i delete the unsubstantiated entry

You won't be able to add more entries into your chart until the previous entry has been validated. These are some screenshots of the process to add a new artist /album onto the site (it's quite simple once you know how to do it):
