After a period of convalescence/abstinence/holiday I decided to celebrate Record Store Day today by buggering off to London to spend far too much money. And that I did:
RSD press of Perry's first mix of this, originally on Black Art. Spinning it now and by crikey does it sound different to every version of this album I've ever heard. It's a really dry mix - little reverb and echo, lots of emphasis on cowbells, woodblocks and the like. First impressions are really good - in fact anything that gives an LP I adore a new lease of life is to be thoroughly encouraged. I was even more impressed by the fact that, given it was 4 days after the event and only 500 of them were pressed, I managed to walk into Honest Jon's and pick up a copy
