Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.6/100, a mean average of 76.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.3.

Great album. This is one of those records where no one track really stood out to me but I felt myself connecting with the flow of the record, and loved the beats. Also probably the best use of interludes that I have ever heard on an album. Hoping to give this more listens at some point.
She has such a beautiful and powerful voice. My Favourite track is Cranes In The Sky (which was actually the first song of hers that i lestened).
I think this album is slightly over rated. The beats aren't that good and the whole record feels so slow and like it lacks a proper punch or edge to it. I find myself zoning out countless times with every listen I give this record. The music feels like it needs a spark of life to really give it some proper substance. Furthermore, it isn't that experimental either and doesn't really do much different to any other album I have heard in the hip hop genre except for be a bit more dull. Apart from a few outliers, most songs on here are just filler and would not be missed if they were cut. One of the most boring for me is F.U.B.U which is just so bland. However, one of the main redeeming factors of this album is the lyrics which are pretty strong. It also flows from one song to the next quite well and doesn't really break stride. Overall, this just feels so dull in my opinion and I feel like there is so much that could be done to drastically improve this record but there are still a few ideas on this record which show potential.
A very refreshing and evocative album that surprised me positively. Great!
A couple of OK beats, but mostly too slow to capture my attention.

I’d maybe chalk it up to their relative fame, but as the Knowles sisters become more political in their music, it seems like Solange is making the more interesting and daring statements. A Seat At The Table is an spirited exploration of black identity, mixing unfiltered lyrics with smart musical references.
Best track: F.U.B.U. (feat. The-Dream & BJ The Chicago Kid). Just gets her message across smoothly and succinctly. Definitely don’t look at the Youtube comments on this one, it’s just embarrassing to humanity.
Many things could be said about "A Seat at the Table", Solange's third album. Hard to criticize an album so strong and so fair, in its musically and in its lyrical and engaged content. "At Seat at the Table" is a personal, moving and captivating work of great musicality ranging from old-school R&B to alternative pop, from soul to Motown and hip-hop influences. "A Seat at the Table" is a resolutely black, or at least African-American album. A bit like her sister's "Lemonade" but with more passion and sweetness, Solange talks about her surroundings, what she knows and about political subjects . The message is there, the songs are very melodic and the rhythms are catchy. The softness of Solange's voice does not hide her sorrow, her vulnerability, her pride and her hope. "A Seat at the Table" is a great album produced with simplicity. The American artist does not try to impress us, what matters here is emotion. "At Seat at the Table" is a masterpiece and above all a true love and devotion to music.
8/10
Best track: "Cranes In The Sky"
Further proof that African-Americans are right now making the most futuristic, innovative music at the moment. What we get here is a collection of left-handed r'n'b interspersed with dialogue highlighting civil rights - highly pertinent in the year of Black Lives Matter. There are nod's to funk, synth pop and House but the end result is unique and highly original, and beautiful.
