Harrowing, allegorical, introspective and self-referential, 'Geek The Girl' is reminiscent of a 'Dante-esque' ending to a thriller. Reviving the lugubrious nightmares of Nico and the sad fables of Leonard Cohen, Germano's world is a deeply unsettling one. The album is steeped in a kind of atmosphere of insecurity and madness which seems to be both heartfelt and personal but is expressed in a way that relates to the stories of women the world over.

It's really hard for me to listen to '...A Psychopath' because of the 911 audio. Really creepy.

the first time i listened to this album i was in my car, driving on the highway. halfway through "...a psychopath" i had to pull over to the side of the rode because the emotional intensity of the song, with it's backing track of a real-life 911 call, got me choked up. the rest of the album showcases Lisa's ability to marry cheerful words with dark music, and vice versa.
I love this album for being so naked, so introspective, self-critical and confused. We don't even like admitting to each other that we feel this way, so props to Germano for capturing it on record. What more can I say, I absolutely love this album.

This really starts to strike out on its own with Geek the Girl then Just Geek. I missed out on this because this was already such a great year for music. I'm listening now.
