Great album, with the first five tracks being among the catchiest Costello's ever penned. After that, I personally find it less memorable, although it ends strongly with the melancholic Two Little Hitlers and (on the US version) the definitive version of producer Nick Lowe's What's So Funny 'Bout Peace, Love and Understanding. This album was also the start of the increasingly sophisticated sound that would reach its apex a few years later on Imperial Bedroom. While probably my least favourite of EC's "classic" period ('77-'82), it's still a great pop album - those aforementioned tracks are genius!
This is the album that has the only two Elvis Costello songs that I love. Oliver's Army and Accidents Will Happen . And to a lesser extent Green Shirt. I like a couple other songs he wrote, but I like the versions other people did better.
