Whilst Sarah released a few studio albums from the bands themselves the whole ethos of the label was geared towards the 7” single so these comps are the perfect way of getting to the heart of the label. Then of course you used to get all those free cassettes & CD’s with magazines, I remember a particularly good Creation one from Select magazine and Uncut have done some really great ones, the 4AD one was a great look at the label.
Various artist compilations used to be hugely important for labels especially to get their lesser known artists some exposure but I guess once ‘streaming music’ arrived there was really not the need so much for them. I do really enjoy a well compiled various artist compilation though and over the years have discovered so much great music through the format.
If anybody has a curiosity about disco music, these are the best Disco comps in the universe. . At least on these volumes here, there's no filler whatsoever. Some of the later volumes might make you want to say "Disco sucks', but not these ones here. They are the best records to play at a party ever. Well, at a certain type of party anyway.

I love me a bit of disco Bobby bud. These comps have very good track lists.
In the UK in the 90s we had a couple of compilations called Rhythm Divine 1 and 2 which were great disco compilations. They were double CDs. I think they sell them cheap on Amazon UK. Well worth checkin out although there is some crossover from The Disco Years.
