Welcome Back My Friends To The Show Tha...mp; Palmer

I'm mostly recommending this because it brings me immense pleasure knowing someone has to sit though this 2+ hour triple LP, and it never gets discussed as one of the great live albums ever. This LP was recorded entire live from one concert in order! That NEVER happens! If the length scares you, it shouldn't because it's gonna fly by.

finally finished this... I mean I guess I can't say I hated it as much as I thought I would but that's only because it left such a minimal impression on me (as opposed to an actively negative one). I'm sorry I don't have much of value to say about this one because I just got really nothing out of it to speak on, it just felt like a collective of highly technical (and admittedly undeniably skilled) musicians somehow playing for two hours music that is as complex and intricate as it is just completely bland to my ears. Admittedly this is a step above the studio albums I've heard from him, but that's faint praise.

sorry buddy, this was just not even close to something I can vibe with, but kudos for forcing me to listen to 2 hours of elp with no way out. what a fucking power move ๐Ÿคฃ

alright Luigii it's all you

A Thirsty Fish by The Hafler Trio

Do you have a link for this album? Trying to find it but I can't. Though I'm interested for it. When I type in there name and see Autechre with them gives me some form of hype.

Process by Sampha

Just like the last time I listened, I'm wanting more. I think Sampha has a lot of potential, but this album doesn't blow me away. I await his next release.

From Luigii:

Subject by Dwele

Contemporary R&B is not really my thing. It has to be exceptional for me to appreciate it. This album wasn't exceptional. Nothing wrong with it quality and proficiency wise, it just for the most part bored me. The first half sounded too samey, a lazy criticism I know, that usually comes from a lack of experience and knowledge of the genre or artist, but that applies here - I know very little. It picked up a bit in the second half and got a bit more interesting. Worst song: Money Don't Mean A Thing. Tired, cliched, lyrics. Best song: Without You. Most interesting musically. So good album I think, just not my taste.

For Rocka: Not Australian this time lol (Aussie music is what I know). How about some angry Scots?

Amphetamine Ballads by The Amazing Snakeheads

Good shit Purplepash, even better than you're last recommendation. Too bad this band is apparently not going to be making anymore albums.

Here's another one from me.

The Moon Is A Dead World by Gospel

Re by Cafรฉ Tacuba

Twee, polished, genre-hopping Latin pop-punk from the bastard children of the Dave Matthews Band and The Offspring. I mean, it probably helps that the lyrics are in Spanish because I imagine they're terribly cringeworthy. This record doesn't really stay in one place long enough to create a mood or atmosphere, and all of its tangents feel workmanlike and professional but never anything more. Also, I just cannot get on board with the dude's voice. Fine, I guess. Shan't be revisiting.

For Rocka:

Early by Scritti Politti

Am I too late to join in here? Seems like you guys are pretty tight-knit. Tell me to go if you like. Anyway, Skinny, this oneโ€™s for you. I bet youโ€™ve already heard it though. Sorry if you have man, I just want to be a part of this.

Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik by OutKast

It has been a long time since i listened to this album. i gathered enjoyed it, the live instrumentation and funkiness it posses are cool and some of the things i like about utkast in general when i think of them they always have a little bit of funk to them and i love funk. Not quite good enough for me to put in my rap top 100 but will absolutely make my yearly chart. I have a soft spot for gangster rap so its hard for this style to crack my top 100 but it is a really good album and i enjoyed listing to it and will again sometime. 3.5/4 out of 5.

My recommendation for Komorebi-D is:
The Sun Rises In The East by Jeru The Damaja

Early by Scritti Politti

Well, color me impressed. I had no idea Scritti Politti was one of those bands that had a drastically different sound before they sold out in the 80s. I recently got into the first couple Split Enz albums which are nearly Genesis levels of Proginess, and I was pleasantly surprised as well. I liked the last 3 tracks quite a bit, especially the last one.

Sorry to subject you to 2 hours of ELP, it's most definitely not for everybody.

Just listened to:

Caracal by Disclosure

A sweet sounding House album with some very notable musical cameos. Very easy going down, with some lovely sounds that caressed my ears. My only qualm with this album (and most House albums) is that they're all relatively the same tempo, which means songs can kind of run together. I still enjoyed the album, an my problems only lie with the genre itself.

Me recommendation is:

Glassworks by Philip Glass

Based on Tha1ChiefRocka's list, you would love this if you haven't listened to it already.
