No, this isn’t the petrol industrialist, nor is it the actor from Call Me By Your Name (it’s not even the baking soda of the same name). Armand Hammer is experimental rap duo billy woods and Elucid, both relative veterans in the game that sound exciting and new when put together. This album has some of the restless energy and crust of Dälek’s early work, particularly in the treatment of samples, and as there aren’t many standout hooks or refrains here, more focus is put on the way the two rappers’ individual styles effortlessly interweave.

Brilliant and unique album by Armand Hammer. The instrumentals are dark, raw, and slow. The lyrics are thought provoking and have a nice sense of humor. It won't be for everybody, but if you're looking for something unique amond the other Hip Hop albums of 2018, give Paraffin by Armand Hammer a try.
