Re-Mixed Albums. Do you ever prefer them to the original?

There's certainly been some individual remixes that I vastly prefer to the original. It never ceases to amaze me what DJs were able to do before EDM became the dominant force in dance music. I remember hearing an incredible mix of Holy Ghost by the Bar Kays mixed with Everything in its Right Place that absolutely floored me. That being said, I don't think a whole remixed album could really be pulled off.

The closest thing that comes to mind is the adaptation of Damaged by Black Flag that resulted in Rise Above by the Dirty Projectors, but that's more of a weird cover than a remix.

ELO had a best-of of re-mixed songs in 2012.
Typically, Mr Blue Sky lost its spark in the process

I like this album:

Mixed Up by The Cure

It's not a remixed album but an album of remixed songs.

I like that, too, but that's not what I would consider a remixed album, they made something entirely new.

Like this one, which I also like:

The Grey Album by Danger Mouse
